Terms and Conditions for International Students and Agents from abroad!

Below sets out the terms and conditions between you, the student and/or agent, and Cambridge School of English (hereafter CSOE).

Minimum age for students is 16 years old in our permanent school for international students – nevertheless, accompanied students below 16 years old by their parents, superiors or entitled persons (adults 18+) are as well welcome.

Payment

Payment must be received in full 14 days before the first day of your course. If your course starts in less than 14 days payment must be received in full at the time of booking. Cambridge School of English is not responsible for any bank charges incurred by international bank transfer. Please remember to quote your student number when making your payment.

No part of your booking is confirmed until payment is received in full.

You may pay by: Bank Transfer in € EURO or Cash in € EURO on place for any additional services. Your total fees are made up of the following: Course registration fee; Course fee; Accommodation fee (if applicable); Accommodation booking fee (if applicable); Bank transfer fee (if applicable); Airport transfer fee (if applicable) or any other fee for services.

Medical, Travel and Course Insurance

Comprehensive travel, repatriation, medical and course insurance are an essential part of international study. SCHOOL FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE OR TRANSFERABLE, except in cases detailed below. We therefore strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive insurance which covers reimbursement of fees.

Change or postponement of courses

The registration fee and accommodation finding fee is non-refundable. All fees are payable in advance. If you wish to change or postpone your booking, we require one week's notice in writing. Where less than one week's notice is given, full fees are due and no refund is available. In the case of non-EU students applying for Visa, a refund will be considered if the visa application is refused on grounds beyond the applicant’s control (see more details about refund below).  

Polish Immigration Regulations for non-EU students

Cambridge School of English will provide the documentation required to support students’ applications visa where applicable. Documentation in support of such visa applications will only be provided upon receipt of full fees. Once an Enrolment Confirmation has been issued, any changes to it (change of date, or length of course etc. ) will be charged at €30.00 per letter. Please ensure all information is correct before requesting an enrolment confirmation. The School has an obligation to collate and maintain application information, as well as passport and visa data, and inform the Immigration Authorities of any student whose conduct falls outside conditions required by their visa. If a visa application is unsuccessful, the school needs to be informed and a copy of the visa refusal letter should be sent to the admissions team. Any refund will be considered when the school receives the refusal document and is satisfied the application was bone-fide in line with the entry clearance officer’s comments. Please note the Registration Fees and Accommodation Finding Fees are non-refundable.

Circumstances when the Cambridge School of English will not refund (non-EU students):

  • If the refusal is based on the students' financial statement to the Polish Commission / Polish Embassy
  • If the Polish Commission / Polish Embassy refuses Entry Clearance because documents cannot be verified or are found to be fake.
  • If the student is refused entry at the airport
  • If the student decide not to apply for visa after payment has been made
  • The student decides not to continue studies at CSOE after arriving to Poland.
  • If a student is dismissed for poor attendance or misconduct.
  • If any fraud is detected in the process of applying for a visa
  • If the visa is refused on the basis of a previous visa refusal
  • If a student arrives to Poland and decides to change college
  • If the student decides to defer their course
  • If a student is refused re-entry to Poland
  • If a student leaves the country during the course

CSOE reserves all rights to change vary or defer the terms of enrolment, fees and financial regulations at its discretion.

All refunds will take between four and eight weeks from the date when all the original documents required by CSOE are received.

Refunds will be made to the person or organization that initially made the payment.

Cancellations and refunds where the School terminates the contract

The School reserves the right to terminate the booking without refund, where the students' acts or omissions are such that it would be unreasonable for them to continue their studies in the School. This includes but is not limited to behavior that is threatening or abusive towards others, damage of school property. Please note that a course may be terminated at any point during its duration if a student is found not to have leave to remain in Poland or breeches the conditions of his/her leave.

Attendance and students’ holidays

Students are expected to attend lessons regularly and on time in compliance with Polish law. Students lose tuition if they are late, absent, or leave before the course ends. Students can book holidays from courses which are compliant with individual’s visa restrictions.

Course Availability and Cancellation

Every attempt will be made to place you on the course of your choice. However, Cambridge School of English cannot guarantee a particular course and timetable until you have taken an entry test and had an interview. In the event of insufficient applications for a course, the school reserves the right to offer an alternative course of equal value.

General Accommodation finding support

CSOE is offering support services in helping to find suitable accommodation for staying in Poland during the period of the course registered for. A base fee is due front up, but further service fees can be charged, depending on services required.

CSOE is not taking any responsibilities on accommodations or a guarantee of finding a suitable location, but will do it’s best to satisfy the expectations of the student.

Translation services can be offered, but will be charged additionally.

Accommodation finding fee is not refundable.

Definition of one lesson

Each lesson consists of 45 minutes of study time.

Public Holidays

During Polish Public and school holidays the school will be closed. No refund or discounts will be offered. The school will make every effort to compensate lessons missed at the school’s operational convenience.

Special Offers

Course discounts are valid from the date of advertisement. Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively to existing bookings.

Force Majeure

Cambridge School of English is not liable in the event where it is unable to fulfill any service to which it is contractually bound because of fire, natural disaster, acts of government, failure of suppliers or subcontractors, labor disputes or other reasons which are outside its control.

Promotional Activity

Students and their parents or guardians, where applicable agree that the student’s photo, quotes and details of achievements may be used for promotional purposes without written consent or notification. Any information provided Cambridge School of English may be held and is subject to Polish Data Protection legislation.

Liability

The school and its staff and representatives will not be liable for loss, damage or injury to persons or property howsoever caused, except where liability is expressly imposed by law. The school will not be liable in the event that any service contracted to be supplied by the school becomes impossible to supply for any reason or any cause outside the control of the school.

Any disputes will be covered by Polish Law.
