WINTER CAMP WITH ENGLISH FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS AGED 4-13 YEARS

Winter break is coming soon, and this year we have prepared a unique offer of language classes for children and teenagers.

We offer two types of activities:

  • intensive language workshops with English (detailed information below);
  • intensive language workshops with design in 3D technology (detailed information below);

Our winter classes are a perfect combination of fun while learning English. We focus primarily on communication in the foreign language and immersion in English in dynamic and engaging workshops. During the winter holidays, from February 10th to 21st 2020, we will not only learn English, but also sing, paint, design and have fabulous trips. There is no place for boredom at our camp!

Cambridge School of English has been organizing language classes for children and teenagers based on tailor - made teaching programs for 28 years.

Intensive English language workshops (February 10-21, 2020) at the Cambridge School of English (ul. Widok 10 and Konwiktorska 7)

Winter language workshops at the Cambridge School of English are organized in small groups (up to 10 people), which gives the opportunity to devote enough attention to each participant.

Our intensive language workshops are organized in the following blocks to choose from:

  • Full day (from 9.00 to 17.15)
  • Mornings (from 9.00 to 13.30)
  • Afternoons (from 14.15 to 17.15)

Intensive language workshops with 3D design are organized in one block:

  • Full day (from 9.00 to 17.15)

Winter camp at Cambridge School of English:

  • classes are intended for participants aged 4-13, students are selected into groups of similar age groups;
  • intensive English language workshops are organized at the Cambridge School of English at Widok Street 10/1 or Konwiktorska 7 (parents can pick up a location);
  • we actively use the foreign language in various situations;
  • we teach about the culture and traditions of English-speaking countries;
  • classes are conducted in English, with the use of songs, rhymes, games, artistic and theatrical elements;
  • we work with creative potential of workshop participants;
  • classes are conducted by a qualified teacher (non-native speaker) and a native speaker from Great Britain, United States, Australia or Canada;
  • every week we offer other optional trips. We cooperate with a number of institutions and museums and together organize various classes in English;
  • during classes, we offer the following blocks: English is fun, performing in English, musical English, visiting UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, around the world, visiting space, world of board games, English cartoons, We read and listen;
  • each participant of the camp receives a certificate of participation;
  • we provide the opportunity to leave the child at our school at 8.30 and pick them up at 17.30 (at this time children can use coloring books and board games);
  • full day stay includes meals: lunch served at 13.30 (soup and second meal) and afternoon tea served at 16.15 (usually fruit or sandwiches). Meals are provided by a catering company;
  • if you enroll your child for one block (from 9.00-13.30 or 14.15-17.15), please provide them with a sandwich;
  • we offer a 5% discount for participants of both camps (two weeks)

Classes are conducted by qualified and experienced teachers (non-native speakers and native speakers) who are very creative.

Prices for 2020 winter camps:

  • Classes from 9.00-13.30: 485 PLN / week
  • Classes 14.15-17.15: 465 PLN / week
  • Classes 9.00-17.15: 790 PLN / week

Our activities are divided into following blocks:

English is fun- kids immerse themselves in English, learn new words and useful phrases and put them into practice.

Performing in English– acting, preparing props, casting in various roles

Musical English- kids sing, dance and compose rhymes

Visiting UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand- children learn interesting facts related to English-speaking countries, we expand our knowledge about culture, customs, historical places, traditional food, clothing, fauna and flora

Around the world- kids learn about the world, various countries and their culture and traditions.

Visiting Space– students go on a journey into space, explore the planets both discovered and not yet discovered

World of board games - Chinese, Memo, Domino, Action - Reaction and lots of other board games - kids play in English!

English Cartoons - after watching a short movie / fairy tale students play with characters from fairy tales

We read, we listen- after listening to a short story, kids organize a game based on its characters

Trip to the zoo or to the cinema- paid additionally, other trips included in the price.

The teacher uses English in communication with participants. Polish is used in emergency situations.

Description of language workshops with 3D design classes:

  • Language workshops with 3D design are not only aimed at developing English language skills, but are also a great opportunity to learn about modern technology;
  • Classes are intended for participants aged 7-13;
  • The minimum group of workshop participants consists of 4 people and the maximum is 10;
  • Classes guarantee practical learning, they give a sense of pride in an independently designed and printed object;
  • Workshops start at 9.00 and end at 17.15. Classes in 3D design and printing take place every day in the morning (9.00-11.00), followed by thematic blocks, trips, conversations and classes attended by foreign guests;
  • The workshop price is 1149 PLN for one week;
  • The workshops are conducted in English by an instructor qualified in the field of 3D printing technology, as well as English teachers and foreign guests (native speakers);
  • Classes are held in two turns (week I - February 10-14, 2020, week II - February 17-21, 2020);
  • 3D technology workshops cover three areas: 3D design, 3D scanning and 3D printing. Our workshops are a great opportunity to get to know 3D scanning and 3D printing technology in detail;
  • During the workshops, the main task will be to create a statue for each participant that will also include a commemorative stand. Everyone will have a 3D scan of their face. Then, in the 3D modelling program, participants will make souvenir stands with individual inscriptions that will be connected to their statue. The whole work will be printed with a help of a 3D printer. On the last day of the workshop, statues will be given to participants along with certificates of participation;
  • The training has a very practical dimension, participants will learn two 3D modelling programs in which they will design everyday objects. Each participant will be given access to a computer with appropriate software;
  • On the last day of the workshop, 3D statues will be given to participants, along with certificates of participation;
  • In addition to gaining practical knowledge, on each day of the workshop we will present selected ways of applying 3D printing in industry and medicine.

Detailed plan of weekly workshops with 3D printing

Day 1 (2 hours)

1. Explanation of the entire process of creating an object in 3D printing technology - from design to final printing. Setting print parameters, starting the 3D printer.

2. Introduction to 3D design, explaining of the necessary 3D modeling tools.

3. Presentation of the 3D scanner operation.

4. Performing face scans of participants.

5. Presentation of several interesting ways of applications of 3D printing and 3D scanning.

Day 2 (2 hours)

1. Launch of the 3D printer.

2. Editing participants' scans.

3. The participants make individual stands with individual dedication.

4. The final combination of statues with bases and preparation of models for printing.

5. Presentation of several interesting ways of applications of 3D printing.

Day 3 (2 hours)

1. Launch of the 3D printer.

2. 3D modeling - design of gadgets, i.e. key ring, pencil cover, bookmark.

3. Presentation of several interesting ways of application of 3D printing.

Day 4 (2 hours)

1. Launch of the 3D printer.

2. Introduction to parametric design - cube and rocket design.

3. Presentation of several interesting ways of application of 3D printing.

Day 5 (2 hours)

1. Launch of the 3D printer.

2. Continuation of the parametric designing. Implementation of the project based on students’ ideas.

3. Summary. Handing certificates and commemorative statues with attached name plaques.
